Thursday, 20th of February 2025, DBTech Africa-Job Services Office held a round table in Cité des Jeunes Don Bosco Buterere (Bujumbura-Burundi), AGL Province. Principals of the two salesian VTCs in Burundi and other salesians, a representative of the general director of the department of Vocational and technical training (Ministry of Education), the head of department of VTC and technical training curriculum development, and many other stakeholders discussed about the importance of having a JSO (Job service office) in a Vocational training center, which is not yet a reality in Burundi.
The DBTech Africa JSO representative presented to the participants a JSO model that is being used in salesian VTCs in Burundi and other countries in Africa & Madagascar and every body was interested to know about the model. Although the Vocational and technical training is still at a low level in Burundi, participants concluded that many young people who finish their training remain unemployed, which becomes a big concern all over the country.
More than 50 people participated.
