After 9 days of prayer and recollection by the students and teachers of the CFP Don Bosco Rukago, today was the big one because in our school we celebrated the Feast of Mary Help of Christians.
The day began with Holy Mass celebrated by Father Léopold Miryango sdb , vicar of the community, joined by Father John Paul Kato sdb director of the school. In his homily Father Leopold explained the role of the Virgin Mary in our daily life starting from the Gospel where Mary interceded for the hosts of Cana. Then, as he is a historian, he gave concrete examples drawn from history, saying that here in Burundi the Head of state expelled the missionaries and imprisoned the priests but thanks to the intercession of Mary the Church in Burundi is strong , The testimony of the historian also was that in Rwanda in 1994 there was a genocide and the Salesians did not know how to leave the country but, through the intercession of our mother, UN soldiers came to take them out to Kenya. He concluded by inviting the young people never to distance themselves from this Good Mother who does not abandon those who entrust themselves to her. The Holy Mass was followed by the sharing of meal and drinks.
