On June 16, 2022, at the DON BOSCO MUHAZI TVET Technical and Vocational Education, the Day of the African Child was celebrated under the theme that focused on protecting the Child and building a better tomorrow.
The celebration was preceded by a Mass presided over by Father Raymond Bavumiragiye, Provincial Vicar and Director of DON BOSCO Muhazi.
Speaking to the young people of Don Bosco Muhazi he returned to the behavior that should characterize the child including being polite, avoiding bad habits, and learning well as they strive for a better future.
The Government of Rwanda’s Message for the Day of the African Child was read out focusing on the responsibilities of the state and everyone in child protection, drug prevention and avoiding unplanned pregnancies among the youth.
The event was marked by dances, poetry and sketches which focused on preventing bad habits and unplanned pregnancies among young people.
After the celebration, the young people were served with a meal, a soda, and chocolates for the little children who were present.
It was a celebration marked by joy. Father Raymond thanked the DON BOSCO MUHAZI youth caregivers, explaining that the fact that they come from poor families and are able to study well is due to the strength of the benefactors and praying to God.

Le 16 juin 2022, au Centre d’enseignement technique et professionnel de DON BOSCO MUHAZI, la Journée mondiale de l’enfant africain a été célébrée sous le thème de la protection de l’enfant et de la construction d’un avenir meilleur.
La célébration a été précédée d’une messe présidée par le Père Raymond Bavumiragiye, Vicaire provincial et Directeur de DON BOSCO Muhazi.
S’adressant aux jeunes il est revenu sur le comportement qui doit caractériser l’enfant, notamment être poli, éviter les mauvaises habitudes et bien étudier en vue d’un avenir meilleur.
Le message du Gouvernement rwandais pour la Journée de l’enfant africain a été lu ; il mettait l’ accent sur les responsabilités de l’État et de chacun pour la protection de l’enfant, la prévention de la drogue et des grossesses non planifiées chez les jeunes.
L’événement a été illustré par des danses, des poésies et des sketches axés sur le thème.
Après la célébration, un repas a été servi aux jeunes , accompagné d’un soda, et des chocolats ont été distribués aux petits enfants présents.
Ce fut une célébration marquée par la joie. Le Père Raymond a remercié les responsables des jeunes de DON BOSCO MUHAZI, en rappelant que le fait que les jeunes viennent de familles pauvres et qu’ils puissent bien étudier, est dû à la générosité des bienfaiteurs, à la prière de confiance à Dieu, à Marie Auxiliatrice et à Don Bosco.
