The Salesian community of St Joseph VTC, Kamuli organized a training session for Youth Animators from 26/4/2021 to 27/4/2021. Its purpose was to raise awareness of the Salesian educative system among young people.  Four topics were discussed.  On the first day the discussion was based on leadership and challenges faced by today’s youth. Father Ben, the youth coordinator in Jinja diocese presented to the young people the role of leaders. He told them that a leader is someone who knows the way and who leads the way. He showed them the different characteristics of a leader: exemplarity, service, humility, courage, sympathy, coordination, etc. He underlined some challenges young people are facing today such as lack of jobs, poor mindset, poverty, sexual immorality, pornography. drug abuse, contraceptive technology, abortion, lack of self-confidence….On the second day, Father Denis Habamungu, the rector of St Joseph VTC community gave a reflection on the Salesian Educative System while Father Vital, the youth coordinator at St Joseph VTC community presented the different characters of the Salesian Youth Spirituality (SYS) : spirituality of everyday life, of joy, of presence, of human rights, of communion, spirituality of the Beatitudes. The training session ended on 27/4/2021 with a thanksgiving by Father Vital, followed by the blessing.
