On 28th September 2025, a day filled with faith, joy, and youthful devotion, the Christian community of Namaliga Parish – Bombo made a pilgrimage to Kasana-Luweero Diocese for a remarkable celebration of the Etoffali – brick project aimed at helping vulnerable and newly starting parishes to cope up.
The Holy Mass was presided over by the Ordinary of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa who warmly welcomed the pilgrims and reminded the faithful of the importance of living out the gifts of the Holy Spirit in daily life. He called upon the entire Namaliga Parish community to remain steadfast in their Christian identity, to be witnesses of Christ in society, and to allow the Spirit of God to guide their decisions in a world full of challenges and opportunities.
The highlight of the pilgrimage was the confirmation of 302 young Christians from different institutions and communities under Namaliga Parish. Those confirmed came from: Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre – Bombo, Bombo Mixed Primary School, St. Mary’s Secondary School – Namaliga, Namaliga Parish community.
The large number of confirmands was a powerful sign of the vibrant life of faith in the parish and the fruitful collaboration between the parish, the schools, and the families. The pilgrimage was marked by prayer, song, and unity, reflecting the spirit of communion that defines the Diocese of Kasana-Luweero. Parishioners, catechists, teachers, and Salesian educators accompanied the young confirmands.
This event also highlighted the Salesian charism present in Namaliga Parish, especially through Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre, St Mary’s Senior Secondary School Namaliga and Bombo mixed primary school, where education and evangelization go hand in hand in shaping young people to become “good Christians and upright citizens.”
As the celebration concluded, Bishop Mukasa imparted his blessing, entrusting the newly confirmed youth and the entire Namaliga community to the maternal care of Mary Help of Christians, so that their faith may continue to grow and bear fruit.
