Bombo, 8th August 2025.
Today marked a significant moment in the student leadership journey of Don Bosco Vocational Center – Bombo as the institution officially held the handover and swearing-in ceremony of the new Guild Cabinet. The event took place within the school premises in the presence of students, staff, and invited guests, with Rev. Fr. Jean Pierre Turabanye, the Principal of the school, presiding over the function.
The newly elected Guild Cabinet, comprising 14 ministers, took their oath of office with a strong pledge to serve the student community with commitment, transparency, and dedication. Each member was officially sworn in and handed the instruments of office, symbolizing the trust and responsibility bestowed upon them by their peers.
In his address, Rev. Fr. Jean Pierre Turabanye commended the outgoing cabinet for their service and urged the incoming leaders to uphold the values of integrity, teamwork, and servant leadership. He reminded them that leadership within the Don Bosco tradition is not about privilege but about service, sacrifice, and working for the common good.
The ceremony also included the formal handover of office from the outgoing Guild President to the new one, witnessed by the Principal, staff, and fellow students. This transition of leadership served as a reminder of the democratic culture of the school and the continuous growth of student participation in governance.
Representing the new cabinet, the Guild President expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and promised to prioritize initiatives that promote academic excellence, vocational skill development, and unity among students. The day’s event ended on a joyful note, with prayers for the success of the new cabinet and the continued progress of Don Bosco Vocational Center – Bombo in forming competent and value-driven young professionals.
