The Salesian community Blessed Michel Rua – Scolasticate of Kabgayi, organized a spiritual recollection for the young people of the oratory, this Saturday, December 21, 2024 to prepare them for the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At 9:00 am, the young people from different groups were already gathered in designated places in the oratory to begin the recollection with an introductory prayer.

These different groups were converged into three main groups in order to avoid distractions and noise making and also to create a conducive environment for the participants. Each main group had a designated preacher. In their teachings, the preachers explained the meaning and the role of the Advent period that prepares us for the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ. They also took this opportunity to call upon the young to love prayer, as source of all blessings and a better future.

After the conference, the participants had a moment of confession and later on the Eucharistic celebration which was celebrated by Fr. Aaron Rivuzimana. In his homily he urged the young people to always seek God’s kingdom, do good in all that they do, pay attention wherever they are and to always avoid sin at all cost, as St John Bosco taught.

It was the first time the oratory organized this recollection for the young people and the turn up of the participants was impressive and encouraging.
