At Don Bosco Kamuli we had the chance to receive a Seminar on Solar Installation and Maintenance for one week with the following objective '' to train the youth and the public on environmental conservation.''
From January 26th up to February 2nd 2020, 12 teachers had come from different Vocational Training Centers in Uganda to Don Bosco Kamuli,
for a training session about Solar Skills. Each day had its own activities from 08:30 am to 04:00 pm.
Mr. ONYANGO Fred, who was the trainer, focused on this : “to train the youth in solar skills is a contribution to inclusive, equitable and quality education and sustainable energy for all”, meaning that teaching the youth is building a country from the roots up to the branches because the youth are the energy of the country.
Now the question is, “why renewable energy?” Renewable energy can eliminate power shortages, bring electricity and development opportunities to rural areas, create entrepreneurs and support the ongoing lifestyle changes across Uganda and beyond.
All teachers who participated in the seminar were given a certificate proving that they are skilled and able to teach others about solar installation. They were also requested by the school to be the good messengers of VTC Saint Joseph Kamuli.
May Saint Joseph the model and patron of workers accompany them.
